Enhancing Hygiene and Safety at North Devon District Hospital

In a collaborative effort with MIG Medical, Hygienic Wall Installation embarked on a series of transformative projects at North Devon District Hospital.

Our team were tasked by MIG Medical and Wernick Buildings to implement an antimicrobial plastic cladding system across the hopsital's newly built Jubilee Ward, Discharge Hub, and its operating theatre areas, to ensure optimal cleanliness and infection control.

Our partnership with MIG Medical signified a commitment to delivering innovative solutions tailored to the healthcare environment's unique demands. Leveraging expertise and resources, both teams set out to address the Trust's specific requirements with precision and efficiency.

When the hospital required additional space for its elective procedure patient area, the Jubilee Ward was designed and built to accommodate this. Once the outer, modular shell was in place by Wernick Buildings, our team installed hospital wall cladding throughout the corridors, washrooms, and ward areas.

Following on from the success of the Jubilee Ward, we proceeded with the refurbishment of one of the Trust's operating theatre. Through the integration of our hygienic wall solutions, we ensured that the theatre areas met stringent standards and facilitated smooth operations.

Central to each of the project's successes was the implementation of our antimicrobial plastic cladding system. Engineered to inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms, the cladding provided a durable and hygienic surface, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

Since the operating theatre refurbishment, both teams were approached the Trust again to fit out North Devon Hospital’s new Coronation Suite discharge lounge, which features 12 beds alongside a staff base. This expansion marks another milestone in our commitment to enhancing patient care and facility functionality, ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment for patients transitioning out of hospital care.

Throughout the project lifecycle, collaboration and communication were paramount. Coordination between all stakeholders enabled timely decision-making and efficient resource allocation, resulting in the successful completion of the project within stipulated timelines.

All projects at the North Devon District Hospital stands as a testament to the collective commitment to excellence in healthcare infrastructure. By prioritising hygiene, safety, and innovation, the collaborative effort between our team and MIG Medical has set a new standard for healthcare facility design and functionality.
